Mission Statement:
The purpose of the RHS is to research and document the
Athens Mental Hospital in order to inform the public. The RHS will do so by
updating our website with information collected by our staff of researchers. The
RHS will also post the monthly meetings at our website. The ultimate goal of the
RHS is to get the public involved in the restoration of the Athens Mental
Hospital in order for the public to be able to view and tour the building. The
intent is to keep the public aware of what actually happened at the Hospital and
use this site as a museum for those who are interested in viewing this material.
