Still want to get the content from those vanished pages?  Well, it's not too late!  I have personally saved these pages:

Staking out the haunts

Wilson Hall Has History of Paranormal Activity

Restless Spirits Supposedly Haunt Area Cemeteries

Graveyard provides solace, history

Runaway Slave, Nicodemus, Haunts AOPi Sorority House

[Want to know a secret?  I've got hard copies of these, complete with images.  Just to let you know]

My suggestions to you:

1. Read the Post

2. Search the Post online

3. Look at the spook file in Alden

4. Explore Athens!

5. Be friendly and ask a knowledgeable resident

6. Taking pictures is never a waste of money

7. Read The Headless Horseman by Washington Irving [it's not about Athens] but a great atmospheric yarn.

8. October, being most likely my favorite month contains Halloween.  What's on TV around Halloween?  CLASSIC MONSTER MOVIES!!  Oh yeah!  Watch, rent, borrow or buy any monster movie made before 1945 [preferably 1930s].

This is my disclaimer about campy monster movies:

[a] Sit though it, I think you'll enjoy the experience if you've the patience and a fun mindset.

[b] Get in the mood to watch, lights off, cider or beer in hand, maybe a candle lit, stormy night outside.

[c] The most important part: Give something a shot you wouldn't normally
